THE DJ: Greetings, My name is Shawn. For over 24 years I’ve provided
the absolute best 80’s Disc Jockey Entertainment throughout
Southern California playing only the hottest 80’s music.
As a
professional Club, Radio and Special Events DJ, music is my passion
and art!
When it comes to the 80’s music I’m truly an experienced processional
especially with programming 80's music, mixing it up, and creating an
80’s vibe you’ll never forget!
EXPERIENCE: My experience can be traced back to the early 80’s as a DJ in the
Hottest Clubs mixing up the coolest 80’s music such as Depeche Mode,
The Cure, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Erasure and New Order just
to name a few.
KROQ: When I was at KROQ 106.7 FM in Pasadena and then Burbank I had the
incredible opportunity to be part of a new uprising of music that
you might know as Alternative, New Wave, Industrial, Punk and of course main stream
bubble gum pop.
I worked with KROQ personalities Swedish Egil, Richard Blade,
Raymond Banister know as "Ramondo", Poorman, Freddy Snakeskin,
Dusty Street, and Jed the Fish.
MENTORS: The true hero’s of KROQ that gave me the FIRE and Inspiration with Broadcast Radio, Programming Music, being a DJ and Mixing the music to an audience for club and radio was Swedish Egil and Rick Carroll.
Swedish Egil “On-Air Personality – Dance Music Pioneer” took me under his wings and mentored me about the “facts of broadcast and Procedures” with regards’ to Broadcast Radio, Programming and the Club Culture.
Rick Carroll “KROQ Program Director and Architect of Modern Rock” was my true programming mentor with understanding trends and demographics, taking chances and understanding “What to Play, When to Play It, and How to Play It”… scheduling / programming music.
COLLABORATE: I also had the incredible opportunity to meet, interview
and work with many artists such as, B-52’s, Berlin, Oingo Boingo, OMD,
Duran Duran, Missing Persons, Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music.
